Ride to Logging Creek Ranger Station
The south fork of logging creek is on the move across the inside road again, I think I’ll wear sandals next time I head further south. Good bike riding so far this spring, roads are drying quickly, there is still the occasional ice patch and log to jump. Over the logs I actually get off and step over or around, unless I yearn for a busted clavicle. Happy spring riding!
First Bike Ride into Big Prairie
Here is a take of the restored McCarthy Homestead on Big Prairie. Excellent day for the first bike ride of the season, the inside north fork road is still very, very muddy and snow covered but sure beats what we had for the last couple of months as far as bike riding goes. There are also still plenty of snow and ice patches on the road, I didn’t make it past the turnoff to the juniper tree. It’s melting fast but in case you’re up for a muddy ride…

First ski of the season to Bowman Lake
Use your beaters. Conditions are marginal to rocky. Cold temps and sunny day made it great day but the ski back during the full moon is one of my wintertime favorites.

Mt Thompson-Seton II
Huckleberry Frostys all the way up to Semo Pass, what a treat! Probably the best ones I’ve ever had! There was up to 8 inches of snow on top with drifts significantly higher, it felt a lot like winter up there but when the breeze stopped it was really pleasant!
