Controlled burns in the National Forest just outside Polebridge are signaling the end of another long Fire Season. Traditionally these fires help to restore a more historical fire regime to the ecosystem, improve wildlife habitat and reduce hazardous fuels to reduce wildfire risk and aid in potential future fire suppression efforts and improve wildlife habitat.

Here are a couple shots of Huntsberger Lake in the Whale Creek Drainage. Looks like there is still a bunch of snow in the backcountry. Time to enjoy glissading!
Came across this guy on my ride down red meadow road. I was curious how far you can get and I turned around a little past the 8 Mile marker where the snow started to cover the whole width of the road. One probably could get as far as the bridge or even further pushing through some snow… To be tried again!
